Usually I'm in Victoria after this place closes so a rare daytime visit meant I could try it out.

Arrived early for lunch and it was busy already the central location means easy access and parking in Victoria is a snap.

Went with The Belly a smoked Salmon Sandwich by another name a delicious creation even if the Herbed Mustard dressing wasn't my favourite also I ordered a pickled addition and that was a mistake.They love pickles in Fishhook but for me they have a time & place.

Fishhook Chowder rounded out the meal you can see the list of ingredients on the menu.Probably not the best choice given I was already eating Smoked Salmon in a sandwich sadly ordering in a confused manner happens to me when confronted by a new menu.

As you can see from the photo the soup is rather oily with both Coconut milk @ Salmon that will happen the added dried Herbs made it too busy for my taste too many ingredients in the bowl made for a mishmash of flavour and were those Beets in fish soup?

The true winner in the soup though was the delicious white fleshed fish that lined the bottom of the bowl a real surprise and a sublime touch.

Hopefully I'll be back later in spring to try this again this time with some dining companions so we can order broadly, it's a tiny space well designed but if it seats 20 I'd be surprised.
