New Fish Tacos in Village: Flaco's

xaiver | May 9, 2003 12:10 AM

New Mexican place on 6th Ave and 11th St., Flaco's Taco & Tequilla has 10 varieties of tacos, including four different kinds of fish: tuna, mahi mahi, snapper and shrimp. None are Baja style (fried fish). All are grilled fish and soft corn tortillas. $11-$12. The mahi came in some sort of spicy tomato sauce, with two tortillas per taco. Not bad, but I'm not knocking myself out to go back there. but the prices are quited reasonable.

My frozen margarita was terrible. Tasted like lime juice and ice. I sent it back.

Expectations should be low. Flaco's is owned by the guys that own City crab and Steak Frites. Know for their noise, not their food. the waiter said there had been four other restaurants in that space in recent years.
