Fish & Chips in England

Despite the enthusiasm of Chowhounders for F&C in London, I have been disappointed a 'value for money'. However, If you are travelling north around Nottingham you may want to stop in Lincoln, a small cathedral city to tour their cathedral and castle and enjoy an excellent F&C lunch at The Sign of the Fish restaurant in the downtown market. The busy F&C take-out is open for lunch and serves excellent fish and chips with the usual sausage and chip specials with 'mushy' peas, etc at a modest price. As good or better than than any I've had in London, The Sign of the Fish serves a piping hot serving for £2.80. Enjoy!
