Dinner Friday night at Fioretto - house was full. Earlier lunch in the week, we learned, all tables were taken inside and out, with more people waiting.
Seems the usual round of vacations people take in July made things light only for a couple weeks.
David now has 3 servers, who had no trouble keeping up with the evening.
Sorry - we drank the last bottle of Sassicaia. Amazing. He does have an Amarone which I did not look at, but he speaks highly of. I completely trust his taste in Italian wine.
Also had a cold pea and Calamari soup - the day's special only. David was kind enough to share his recipe. No stock! Very clever.
Hopefully, it won't be long before he can hire more kitchen staff and spare himself such long hours. Nice to see such a talented and committed family succeed.
We may be in that precious time when things are going well, before a serious amount of traffic sets in.
And I only learned about it all because of you, my dear Hounds.
Best to all,
(Busy day. Lunch at Open Sesame in Belmont Shores. What a subtle hand with spices!)
