Fionn MacCools on The Esplanade

Oh my god, what an awful night we had here last night!!!!!

The food was dreadful. We have been at the Fionn's at Yonge/St Clair, and the new one at University/Adelaide and have always enjoyed them. The service there is good as is the food.

But at the Esplanade, the food was terrible, no flavour, no style, quishy bread - dreadful. The service was even worse. When we spoke to the server about the bruscetta (sp), she said, 'Yeah, I know, it's not very good is it?' and then walked away! The server was so disinterested in us. And the more we complained, the less time she spent with us.

Then later on, when the band arrived, they did a 45-minute sound check - 45 minutes of hearing "one, two, one, two, one, two" is not appealing. When they did finally start playing, it was overly loud, and muffled, as if they were singing in a fish bowl. We started wishing for them to start doing sound checks again!

I would never recommend this place to anyone.
