My father is coming up to visit me during Jazz Fest and says he'd like to "enjoy some fine dining, good wine, and sit outsite." I've been in Montreal for five years and dating a chef for three of those and I'd like to check out somewhere new. So, my criteria basically are: masterful summer menu (no Asian fusion or other overly ambitious fusion that doesn't work), good wine list (but not overpriced for the sake of trend), and a nice terasse (either for good people watching or general atmosphere). Price really isn't an issue, but I'm looking to eat, not "see and be seen." I know my criteria are pretty specific, but I know you fellow chowhounds will have some good suggestions for me. Like I said, I've been eating out in Montreal for a while now, so the the more obscure and interesting the restaurant, the better it will be for my purposes. Thanks a bunch!
