Help finding good eats in Pittsburgh needed

jpoppel | Jun 30, 2006 06:17 PM

My father and I have a tradition of going to the baseball All-Star Game every year. We've been to Seattle, Milwaukee, Chicago, Houston and Detroit over the past 5 years, and this year, we'll be heading to Pittsburgh. We arrive on Friday, July 7 and leave on Wednesday, July 12.

We try to line up places to eat relatively near where we are staying (Spring Hill Suites) to avoid having to rent a car for the week. We'll take cabs or walk (depending on the weather.)

However, we've had a hard time coming up with places to go to in Pittsburgh. There aren't a lot of travel guides available for the city (not exactly a prime tourist destination), and there is a further complication. On Monday and Tuesday (June 10th and 11th), the events at the ballpark won't end until well after 11 PM. To the best of our knowledge, none of Pittsburgh's better restaurants are planning on expanding their existing hours to accommodate late-arriving patrons during the All-Star festivities (which kind of boggles the mind... there's plenty of $$$ to be made!)

So, if anyone knows of any decent late-night options for Monday and Tuesday (NOT fast-food), I'd appreciate a referral. Thanks!
