No offense to anyone on this board, but I can't stand "SEATTLE COFFEE", which seems to be THE coffee all over town. I've never been a Starbuck's fan, and I found out today that even BURGER KING, whose coffee I've enjoyed for a while now, decided TODAY to replace all their regular cofee with -- you guessed it -- "Seattle's Best Coffee". Just horrible.
So sorry to go on and on, but I'm having a hard time finding "cafe con leche", which is the kind of South American or Spanish-style coffee made with a moka machine (NOT an espresso machine). When I was in NYC, many Cuban-style or Puerto Rican-run eateries or delis would serve this type of coffee, which I loved. A really full and rich flavor without that bitterness that I can't stomach.
But if I were to walk into any random PANADERIA in town and asked them for "cafe con leche", will they give me a strange look? Who serves this stuff?
So far, the only places that I've found it around town is the Brazilian restaurant WOOD SPOON downtown. (Oh, and CAFE TROPICAL in Silverlake... but I didn't like that place so wouldn't return there.)
But are there any bodega-type, Mexian deli-type, or ethnic bakery in HOLLYWOOD, for instance, where I can grab a cup before work or during a break?
THANKS A MILLION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
