I had never noticed this place before last week and tried it today. The name: Kindred Café (www.kindredcafe.com). Location: Breadalbane Street, between The Hornero and the YMCA.
I had the grilled chunky chicken sandwich ($7), which is a grilled cheese (cheddard and swiss) with chicken cubes and tomatoes. It is served with blue corn chips, coleslaw and a dill pickle. Not cheap, but pretty decent if you consider the fact that taxes are included. Also, all the ingredients are high quality, some organic, some not.
I also had an espresso ($3) that was very good (with a lot of crema on the top), but I have yet to try their desserts, which are all homemade and made from organic ingredients.
The café has been opened for about 3 months and I hope that they get busier (2 people were there when I arrived and not a lot more people came after me during the hour I was there). This is really too bad, as the food is very good, and so is the coffee.
Has anyone on this board been there?
