Financier has, unfortunately, changed their menu a bit. The only really noticeable change was with their prosciutto panini - one of my favorites in the city - perhaps behind Bread's (on Spring St.) and 'inoteca's.
Instead, prosciutto is now scarce and a big slab of very bland cheese is the focal point. Even the bread has gone the way of the baguette, which to be fair, was pretty good, but not how it once was. To mask the blandness, sundried tomatoes are heavily added to the sandwich.
Overall, it's a good sandwich...and cheaper than it was. But with the limited amount of prosciutto, I have to be disappointed.
At least 4 people who walked in after me, looked at the menu and was startled to see the change. They all said something about it and ordered "something different this time".
I also had their chicken curry soup - which was excellent. Currently, I am having their flan, which is a bit sweeter/sugaryier? than usual.
Still a great place, but why fix it if it aint broke?
