Finally a decent place to eat in Hyde Park -Rincon Caribeno

I just discovered a new place called Rincon Caribeno in Hyde Park . It is located at 18 Fairmount Ave where El Fogon Seafood Resturant use to be . The food is primarily puerto rican with some american and mexican thrown in . I'ver tried the mexican burritos and tacos but prefer to stick with the house specialties of grilled steak dishes . They also have tons of seafood for the non-meat eaters . I was there recently on a Sat afternoon for take out and all 5 tables were filled with spanish speaking customers clearly enjoying the food . I plan on trying the mofongos rellenos (stuff plaintain balls) with chicharrones (pork) the next time I am there . They also have them stuffed with shrimp, lobster, octopus, conch ,and roasted pork . This is a family run business where english is not widely spoken but the food speaks for itself . One can't help but want this place to do well and by the looks of it ( and the food ) - it is clearly on its way . Finally a place to eat in my neighborhood !
