and i have to say...i was a tad disappointed. i had high hopes coming into it b/c of the great reviews on this site. the atmosphere of the place was great and the service was to be commended as well. the food was fine...but not worth the price at all. if each item were just a few dollars cheaper, i could have accepted it.
we (my boyfriend and i) had the manchego cheese bites after hearing rave reviews...but to me they just seemed like glorified mozzarella sticks. we had the arugula salad and that was pretty tasty. i really liked the pickled fennel. i don't think it was worth the $8 or $9 we paid for it though. and finally we split the tuna roll...fair, but tasteless. i think the sauce needed to be kicked up a notch with more lime or something. very bland. and the tuna "roll" resembled nothing of a roll. just 4 small wedges of raw tuna that reminded me more of biting into a raw steak rather than fish. and for $12...i could have gotten a decent entree at that price somewhere else.
all in all, i would go back if only to hang out and have a drink. the food needs some work...or maybe i should try different items on the menu. they do have an interesting wine list and we tried an excellent merlot from chile.
to end the night we did stroll up a block to HALF...and that place was great. food prices were a lot more reasonable. and the people were really chill and friendly.
any thoughts on this? is it worth going back to try something different on the menu? i really want to like it here!
