The Filling Station in Tallahassee Midtown district

Located in the former Tapas (credit card receipt still reads Tapas!) the Filling Station is a bifurcated spot in the burgeoning Midtown District in Tallahassee. One side is a bar, and the other, adjacent but unconncected, is a sandwich shop. Went once last week, and other than it being bone chilliing cold inside and out, the food was great.
We split an order of fried potatoes, which appeared to be tater tots taken to a higher level, topped with a beer infused cheese sauce, bacon, and scallions. Far more than enough for an appetizer, they were quite good.
My sandwich was a French dip, with house-cooked roast beef, cheese, and roasted peppers. Outstanding. Guest chose a grilled Reuben, which he did not finish, although he is what we call "a good eater." Both were $9. Couple of burgers weighed in at $12-13, so they better be good! Interesting selection of craft beers, salads, and don't remember the rest.
West back Saturday for lunch with a group of 5, but they were closed. Worth checking out.
