There's a lot of filipino restaurants in my area, so I'm going exploring beyond pancit and lumpia. What are some suggestions for delicious filipino dishes you've tried?
I just had bibingka, which I highly recommend ... a warm, buttery cake wrapped in a banana leaf. My version was topped with a tangy cottage cheese which turned out to be water bufallo cheese. This was really, really good.
Also liked the ukoy" and is made with jullienned vegetables and tiny shrimp. It was basically a filipino latke.
What else should I look for?
Also, which parts of the country have good filipino food. Here is SF, there's quite a few places.
