i knew figs would be on their way soon but now i can't wait! prompted by a new cookbook purchase today at the cook's library on 3rd street - fig heaven by marie simmons - i'm that much more anxious than normal. my preference has always been to eat them straight, ever since a trip to italy during the summer of '98 where they were plentiful and i ate my fair share. but now i can't wait to dine on them in pasta, with cheese, etc!
has anyone seen the first crop(s) and if so, where?
