Fell's Point gem

It seems that just about every time I eat out I'm disappointed and deeply suspect that folks in the kitchen haven't actually eaten their own food - so when I leave a place 100% satisfied I feel I have to publicly rave. Had a perfect meal at Lulu's (on Aliceanna right off Broadway) about a month ago. Thinking I might have experienced a nirvanal fluke, I headed back this weekend. No fluke. The food all tasted great. So happily sated, I had the bartender reserve a post-shift drink for the cook on me. The cook, Wayne, came out to say thanks. We chatted for a couple minutes. He told me he's not formally trained but I could really tell his passion for food. Finally, someone who tastes stuff he makes!

The menu is somewhere comfortable between pub grub and fancier fare - but a warning; the ambiance leans more towards dive. Regardless, if you're in the neighborhood, I heartily recommend giving it a try - and let me know what you think! I'm just amazed that this place has so far flown under the radar of this board and the Cheap Eats/Elizabeth Large contingency.

I feel better now having gotten this off my chest...
