I am a long time lurker on these boards and love reading the great recommendations for wineries and restaurants! My husband and I are planning a trip to Russian River Valley & Napa for 4th of July. I know it's still months away, but I've been trying to get a head start on appointments and reservations since we've already discovered that some wineries will be closed on the 4th and there are sure to be crowds.

We have been to Napa several times but never to RRV. We are spending one night in Windsor and two nights in Yountville.

I have read many of the other posts about RRV and Napa on the board but am seeking feedback on this itinerary with the following in mind:

- We love pinots and cabs (and are mostly interested in tasting great new ones on this trip), but we also drink a lot of white wine and rose at home, and we particularly enjoy New Zealand style sauvginon blancs. The best that we've found in Napa is Honig, but we'd love to learn about your favorite sauv blancs or roses!

- We tend to prefer boutique wineries and love meeting wine makers and tasting in beautiful, relaxed settings. We aren't as excited by tours but are open to them if a place is truly unique.

- We are wine club members at Terraces and Ehlers if that helps to give a sense of red wines that we love

Day 1 - Russian River
Dutton Goldfield
12:30pm Lunch @ Copain (a friend in the trade also recommended Lynmar Estate for lunch and I am having trouble choosing between these two)

Dinner @ Farmhouse Inn

Day 2- Russian River to Napa
10am Iron Horse
Merry Edwards
Drive to Glen Ellen - Lunch @ Glen Ellen Inn (we love oysters!)
Drive to Yountville

Dinner @ Bottega? (we have had great meals here in the past and are looking for a restaurant within walking distance, but open to suggestions of somewhere new)

Day 3- Napa
11am Keenan
(I have tried a few other places on Spring Mountain but many of the smaller wineries seem to be closed on the 4th)
Lunch @ Farmstead or Gott's
2pm Salvestrin
4pm Corison (sharing a library tasting as it was recommended that we try the signature cabs)
Hoping to stop by Heitz at some point

Dinner open, may depend on plans for fireworks (considering the concert at Mondavi)

Thanks in advance for your feedback!
