Feedback on Feb. 2020 Singapore Itinerary

smiles33 | Jan 4, 202002:55 PM     9

My family of 4 heads to Singapore in a month and we love to eat. I've been perusing Chowhound and reading travel bloggers and would love some feedback and additional tips. My younger DD and I love Indian food (particularly chaat). My husband and older DD love seafood/fish. We're excited to try as much as we can in our week there. We're staying on Orchard Road but I assume we'll take a taxi/Uber or metro where we need to go.

- Hawker fare. There is so much recommended I wonder if we should just focus on hawker fare as we only have 8 days (not including the 3 travel days). We need to try Hainanese chicken rice, carrot cake, nasi lemak, Curry puff, sambal stingray, Beef rendang, kaya toast, Nasi Goreng, satay, fried daikon cake, curry laksha, chicken biryani, Bak Kut Teh, and char kway teow. Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle and Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken are the two Michelin starred hawker stalls. Toa Payoh West Market, Maxwell Centre, Tiong Bahru Market, Toa Payoh West, Chinatown Food Complex at Smith Street, Hong Lim Hawker Centre, Marine Terrace Food Centre at Block 50A Marine Parade, and Old Airport Road are specific places.

- Get kopi and toast at Dong Po Colonial Café

- Chili Crab. I read a recommendation for chili crab at Jumbo Seafood Restaurant.

- The Roti Prata House located on Upper Thomson Road

- Candlenut or Guan Hoe Soo for Peranakan cuisine

- Ocean for the curry fish head

- Malaysian food at Blue Ginger

- Alma by Juan Almador (Spanish cuisine with Asian influences)

Other tips? What are the must eats? Do I need to make reservations for anywhere now?

Thank you!
