Fayetteville, Arkansas (for all you Razorbacks)

OK, nobody asked, but I thought there must be someone out there who travels to Fayetteville and might want restaurant recommendations.

I just had the most heavenly chicken with foie gras sauce at Sassafras last night (North College Ave). Heavenly! I'm not exaggerating. And their molten chocolate cake is good enough reason to visit too, along with a nice wine list. They have a nice prix fixe dinner on New Year's Eve, and also do wine tasting nights twice a month.

Another good one is 1936 Club (Dickson St), with an eclectic menu and also a good wine list.

Red meat fans should try the porterhouse at Doe's, also on Dickson St. The Doe's in Little Rock has a reputation for being dirty, but the one here is clean. The tamales are really good too.

Pianalto's in Tontitown (north of Fayetteville) is a good Italian place, with a small grocery store, for those of you that need a fix of prosciutto and fresh mozzarella.

If anyone has questions about restaurants in the Northwest Arkansas area, I'd be happy to try to help.
