Was searching the Chow archives the other day and stumbled on a rec for Pintaile's pizza, which is hardly covered here. Loved the descriptions on Menupages -- thin, organic, whole wheat crust with wheat germ, interesting toppings, delish cheese, etc.
Called to ask if they serve slices by chance.... and they do! Trekked up to 91st, 5th/ Madison today and had an amazing slice! Got the Salomino with dried, hot capicola, fresh plum tomatoes (replacing sauce), delicious mozz and parm, and herbs.
We all have different pizza preferences (and I'm a fiend for pizza!), and I always like thin, very thin, with wonderful toppings, and rarely, if ever, eat all of the crust. This time I couldn't resist. Was so tasty, must have had some olive oil in it, the wheat flavor was fab (and couldn't care less about health when indulging in pizza), and the fat from the capicola made the crust all the tastier.....
Noticed a flier inside about their newly opened restaurant with wait staff and beer/ wine license at the expanded York/ 84th St location. Called and they said would also serve slices there if ordering other things from the menu, ie salad, pasta, etc. Mmmm.
