Many of my friends and I are getting more and more into the habit of ordering a few appetizers vs. getting an entree when we go out for dinner. It seems you can do your own "tapas" spread whether you're dining at an actual tapas bar or not, by ordering nothing but apps.

With that in mind, what is/are your favorite appetizer(s)? Please share where we can find your faves as well.

Mine is the cocoa crepes at Parkway Grill in Pasadena - small but rich, filled with lobster (it is a savory crepe, not sweet) and sitting in a flavorful cream sauce. I can't go there without getting it!

Another is the flatbread/spread plate at Axe in Venice. The carmelized onion spread and wild mushroom mash are to die for - so simple yet so wonderful.

I also loved the grilled scallop with wasabe mashed potato appetizer at Maison Akira in Pasadena.
