Fatty Crab

I ate at Fatty Crab after weeks of debating whether to go there following the mixed reviews I received from my friends. My friends know about food. The dishes we ordered were the Green Mango Salad, Oyster Omelet, Quail Egg Shooters, Watermelon and Pork Salad, Coconut Rice, Short Ribs, and the Crab.

The Green Mango Salad were just slices of the mango - simple . . . too simple.

The Oyster Omelet simply had too many flavors going on at once.

The quail egg shooter were raw eggs topped with crunchy bits. When eating them watch out for the shell. It had the texture and flavor of snot.

The watermelon salad was quite nice - the sweetness of the watermelon and savory quality of the chunky crunchy bacon provided ideal counterpoints of flavor.

The coconut rice lacked any flavor and was cold. Uncle Ben would be ashamed.

The short ribs were fork tender but lacked any unique flavor.

The crab was by far the best dish on the menu. It was sticky and sweet and messy and yummy. If you do go - you must order it.

The music was way too loud and way too fast, the seats were uncomfortable and in order to get in and out of them along the wall you had to stick your butt into someone's face. The food comes out in no coherent order and it lacked the precision I've come to expect from Zac P's cuisine.

Overall a very disappointing meal - I will never return and recommend you do not as well.

Best of luck finding the good chow - you can cross Fatty Crab off your list permanently.
