Bloomberg.com recently published an article citing Sydney as the best 'dining' city in the world, outranking stalwarts like Paris, New York, London or Hong Kong. In the same article, it also ranked the world's best restaurants in this order. 1) Fat Duck, London. 2) El Bulli, Spain. 3) French Laundry, California. 4) Tetsuya, Sydney....etc. Question! Does Fat Duck justify such accolade? If so, what made it THAT great?! I have eaten quite a few unforgettable meals in some of France's great 3 stars restaurants including Troigras, Taillevent, George Blanc, Guy Savoy, L'Arpege, Le Crocodile, Grand Vefour, Les Crayeres...etc. None of these great establishments made the list. This made me even more curious about Fat Duck's rating!! Fellow Chowhound, any feedback?? especially the FOOD!!
