A friend took me on a surprise visit the The Farmer's Market yesterday. (I didn't have time to research what was good/bad--had to go on memory!)
We had lunch at Marcel (something or other--forget name). Food was forgetable--had the Croque Monsier. I heard this was a classic and delicious sandwich. Well it wasn't very good. Either they don't prepare it well, or it the sandwich just isn't for me.
The eggnog ice cream from Bennet's however, was FANTASTIC--best I've ever had!
I also tasted a glazed donut and apple fritter from Bob's. These were *very* tasty. What exactly makes these better than most donuts--the batter, the oil, or both?
P.S. I remembered Loteria being mentioned here, but forget whether it was a winner or loser--thoughts?
