I was wondering if any of you have joined a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) in this area? They deliver or you pick up fresh veggies from a farm on a weekly basis for a set fee (usually $400-$500) for the season (June - October). I came across this list of CSAs http://www.communityharvestdc.org/net... and was considering Bull Run Mountain Veggie Farm since I live out in Manassas. Anyone have any experience with them, or any of the others on the list. My big fear is that I'd end up too many veggies in my fridge!
Just contemplating this vs. the visit to the farmers market. I like the thought of just getting whatever is in season and trying my luck at whatever they drop off (a culinary russian roulette if you will). Blue Mtn also seems to offer fruits and flowers.
I just disovered Chowhound about a week ago and am already VERY addicted!
