A friend, and occasional chowhound contributor, is hosting a wine tasting featuring Grenache, Syrah and Mouvedre blends, Rhone style wines, three from France, two from Australia and one from California. Her research indicates barbecue, chili and tomato based sauce things match best with these wines. She has tasked me with coming up with ideas for finger foods to go along with these wine tasting choices. She is in NC and doesn't want to put out plates of things that look like they might have come from a local BBQ joint, delicious though that would be. Am thinking about interesting edible containers with a little pulled pork in them, fancy sauces to dip grilled items into, any ideas?
