Family visit to NYC - redux

Sheila | Mar 24, 2003 02:28 PM

As I wrote a couple of weeks ago, my daughter, her 3 kids (12, 15, and 17)and I will be tourists in Manhatten for 3+ days in April. Thanks to you NY chowhounds, I got some good suggestions and recommendations. Now I'd like to ask your opinions of some suggestions given us by a friend who travels to NY a lot on business. Here are his recommendations:

Angelo's on Mulberry St. in Little Italy

Ciro - 8th Ave. @ 49th St.

John's Pizza on 44th or 46th between 8th and 9th

The Beacon - 56th St and 9th

The Rain, somewhere on the upper east side

The 801 - 801 7th Ave.

ESPN Zone (not primarily for the food)

Which of the above do you think we should make an effort to hit or miss? (Guess I should point out that the kids are primarily meat, potato, and pasta people. Nothing exotic.)

Thanks alot.

Sheila
