So you and the Mrs are invited to a “less than stellar” restaurant or, even worse, an acquaintance’s home for dinner! Somehow they know you’re “particular about food” and keep asking your opinion about each course! You’re trying to be kind, but your body language and facial expressions are contradictory. You want to say “it’s grossly overcooked and poorly-seasoned”, but your mouth says “tasty and well-balanced”—you’re lying like a bad sous chef! On the drive home, your wife is silent but suddenly turns and asks, “why can’t you fake it like everyone else does?”
