Tried the vegetarian grape leaves plate for lunch today. Grape leaves were very good--simply flavored with lots of lemon (I love lemon). Served with a passable salad w/creamy Italian dressing and *California* olives, oops; a standard so-so pita; and steamed white rice with a little cup of tomato sauce. The total effect was a bit odd. Next time I'll specify my sides. It was only $7.
A few weeks ago I got a takeout kofta kebab sandwich, which was rolled with hummus, tomato and lettuce IIRC, and was quite good. (Supposedly they have pickles, next time I will ask.) The kofta was generously flecked with green herbs and had a really nice light texture.
Service was a bit slow and I think they're still working out the kinks, but the Middle Eastern menu is definitely worth trying.
