Finally had a chance to go back to Extra Virgin for a meal (had a glass of wine there a month ago).
Sat outside with our new puppy asleep in her carrier (thank god she behaved!) at the somewhat crowded outdoor space.
They had a pleasant special cocktail with fresh peaches and basil that I enjoyed.
Shared the mussels to start with as well as a side of french fries in gorgonzola sauce. Both very good. I really enjoyed the curry broth that the mussels were in with onions and tomatoes.
For a main course, I nearly had the monkfish with serrano ham (will have to try in the future) but went with a special of pork two ways (loin and shoulder). The loin was very good and tender. The shoulder was served with what seemed like a lima bean/sauce covering (hard to describe). That wasn't bad but I preferred the loin. Also came with cheddar mashed potatoes. Husband had the hanger steak au poivre which was tasty but he felt a bit tough. It was served with balsamic onions which were a bit too heavy on the balsamic in my opinion.
All this and a bottle of Sinskey pinot noir and a tap of $112. Pretty reasonable.
All in all, not a perfect meal but a good one, and nice atmosphere/staff. Expect to return.
