I will be in SF next Sat. and have panettone on the brain...even though I've never tried it before. I figure if I don't care for it as is, I'll smother it in cream and eggs and make bread pudding. I've contemplated buying some at the store in a pretty box, but I can't imagine that would be better than fresh from a bakery.
So, what's your favorite panettone in SF and why? If it's a bakery that has other standouts, please list those too! Thanks!
