Craving some excellent brown sauce and red-cooked standards. Where to go in Manhattan?
You know, Lion's Head meatballs, eels, tofu skin dishes, drunken chicken, that kind of thing. This seems to suggest Yeah Shanghai Deluxe, but I believe I got takeout from there once (yeah, I know) that disappointed, especially the meatballs.
New Green Bo was trashed recently, as I understand it Joe's Shanghai is long past its prime, and with all due respect to the poster below I don't expect much from Shanghai Pavilion on 78th and 3rd. What's left? Moon House? Should I give Yeah another chance or abandon all hope of anise-laced meatball heaven?
