Excellent lunch today at Haldi in Curry Hill -- Hemant Mathur's new Kolkata-themed restaurant

Finally, a place that specializes in Kolkata cooking, which my sister-in-law from there raves about. Bengali, Jewish, and Marwari cuisines. Veg lunch 2 courses $12, meat $15. I had luchis (white flour pooris) with potatoes, and a lamb curry with tomatoes and deep fried slivered okra. He had a lamb "egg roll" filled with excellent keema, with a tomato and chili sauce (like an elongated meat samosa) and fish with mustard and coconut, a dish I've heard about for years from my SIL, and id terrific. It came with curried mixed veg. Rice and naan came with the plates. What a deal! I hope they live long and prosper.
The decoration is very attractive (karahis on the ceiling and chandeliers made out of wine bottles) and service was excellent.
Sorry about the poor quality of the pic of the lamb egg roll, it was damn tasty.
