Excellent Burger at the Hotel Utah

Zach Georgopoulos | Feb 15, 2002 02:22 PM

Since our status is largely undecided, the girl and I decided to not make a big deal out of Valentine's Day and went to see a friend's band at the Hotel Utah. I did not expect anything great food-wise, but then I ordered the burger and fries -- juicy Nieman Ranch, almost half a pound, medium rare with a sort of tahini sauce and cheddar -- I couldn't put the thing down. The bun wasn't particularly special, but it stayed together despite the juiciness of the meat, which is alaways a plus. Fries were hot and crispy (they sort of snapped when I bit them) and nicely seasoned. For $8 ($7 without fries), it's a darned nice burger, and a pretty cool place to get a drink.
