As a local I usually grill my own beef at home, but on a recent occasion I chose to try the beef at a centrally located restaurant in town : Slakter Sørensen. Norway is in general not very well known for high quality beef and as a Norwegian/American I remember years of tough and almost inedible beef during my first years in Norway.
The main course I chose was Tournedos with the traditional accompaniments. Quality beef of Norwegian origin ( possibly local ) , served as ordered, authentic Bearnaise and Dauphin potatoes.
As in many of our restaurants the current favorite bread-wise was a tasty version of the Italian Foccacia.
All in all a good meal for a fair price, the house wine is pleasant too !
