Well, if you like good country cookin' type buffets and find yourself in the Virginia mountains, we strayed upon a winner by accident. Evers is a big 'ol faux fancy place that has a decent lunch buffet for around $5.00. They say a couple of meats (there were more) that might include meat loaf, fried chicken, livers, ribs, or other country items. Good mashed 'taters, okra cooked with tomatoes, real country salad bar with sliced tomatoes, cucumbers and onions, granny-style pickles, and lots of other stuff, humongous yeast rolls, and even desserts like peanut butter or blackberry pie. I was raised in the country, country was a friend of mine ... and Evers, you ARE country. Great place, jaw-dropping price, lots of Fenton and other glassware to keep your eyes busy while your jaw's working. And just up the road is a farmer's market with Amish groceries, a bakery (they have whoopie pies!) and a bunch of other interesting little places. Ate lunch there twice in two days, would have done so more times if the vacation hadn't been ending.
