We went to Evergreen last night, and I will start by saying that we surveyed the cold platters in the fridge and none particularly appealed to us, so perhaps we did not have the optimal Evergreen experience. That said, it was pretty hit or miss. We started with the hot and sour soup which was pretty much egg drop soup, so not so good. We had the steamed pork buns which, when they arrived, we thought were the elusive soup dumplings, but they were not. They were very good though, bready dough and a nice flavor. The sesame noodles were, oddly enough, served warm, which I was not expecting, and they were pretty disappointing both from the temperature standpoint and flavor. Finally we had the salted shrimp special which, though the shrimp were a bit overdone, was very nice. Overall, it did not quite meet my expectations, which were quite high after all the accolades on this board. Any suggestions, comments, etc?
Also, was that site once a pho restaurant? My husband and I have a vague memory of going there for noodles.
