EUGENE: Priya Shout Out, Again...

Nick | Sep 14, 200407:02 PM

I want to give another thumbs up to Priya, an Indian restaurant near the Santa Clara Fred Meyer's off of Belt Line in Eugene. I just went there last Friday and hopefully will return this next Friday.

I've gone to most of the quality Indian places recently here in Portland, plus I just got back from Chicago where I ate at several Indian places on Devon, a super-concentration of Indian markets and restaurants.

Priya is good stuff. I've eaten at their buffet and ordered ala carte at dinner. Dinner is better, but even their buffet is quite good for Oregon. It might be as good or better than anything up here except Curry Leaf. The flavors are intense and tasty. I especially like their chilli chicken, chicken tikka masala, and lamb kaima (sp??? it wasn't korma). Their chutneys are also quite tasty.

I just want to urge those in Eugene to keep this place alive. I've tried a few Indian places in Eugene and this was clearly the best.
