Estampas Peruanas and Redwood City in general

We went to the Little Fox Theater in RC last night, and after asking for recommendations on this board had settled on Tarboosh, mainly because it seemed to be the only place in town that would be open on Sunday evening. But I took a wrong turn and ended up coming down El Camino, which led us to the discovery that Estampas Peruanas was open. Apparently they are now open every evening, but they hadn't changed their web page.

We had fried bananas. . . delicious, but the portion was small. My husband had a seafood spaghetti dish and I had a seafood rice dish. They were both good. Not earthshaking, but good, like if you went to your grandma's and she fed you. And along those lines, the servings were enormous. We could easily have shared either dish. Overall, it was a nice experience. The server was pleasant and attentive, and the place is old fashioned and homespun. The wine list hardly deserves the name, and the beers are not for connoisseurs, but it's not that kind of place. It wasn't empty, but nearly and it was quiet. I suspect it's a lot fuller on other evenings. We enjoyed it and I'd go back, especially to try a few of the appetizers, we didn't because we were a little short on time, thanks to my navigational skills.

The other note is that Redwood City is all torn up, but apparently in some six months or so, Broadway is going to really change, with lots of restaurants, and according to the owner of the theater, lots of late night dining and stuff to do.
