Tue(last night) Kar and I dined at ENCORE, we did the tasting menu(as usual) and talked to Bruno(the chef for half an hour), we liked almost all the courses and added Sauterne(for the foie gras)and a WONDERFUL cheese platter just before desert. We think this restaurant is a real find and a DEAL for what you get. Unfortunately it is not getting the attention it probably deserves, this place should be packed at dinner , not just lunch. This style of french cuisine is not for everybody and is more complicated than others(clam broth , morrels ,cummin, carrots, etc just to surround the John Dory fish course, lot's of work and flavors. We bought wine off the list and supplied some from the wine bag. Very flex about corkage. One of the best kept secrets in LA, at present. Tonight MEX food at the beach.
