I'm relatively new to town and I'd thought I'd share a recent find. I had some empanadas from Papi's in Midtown on Ponce (2 doors down from Mary Mac's) at the Taste of Lenox. They were delicious and I have since made the trek twice to the midtown location and have not been disappointed. They are light and flaky, not at all greasy, with just the right amount of filling. They are available in chicken, beef or a guava/cream cheese. Great black beans too, nice and garlicky and I prefer their Cuban sandwich over Havana's, though neither of which I find to be "to die" for. Those empanadas, on the other hand, make me swoon.
