Met a few friends here on Friday night for happy hour - one of our group works in the area. We were attracted by the discounted oyster prices but, sad to say, you get what you pay for.

The oysters on special - Eastern - were flavorless, so we opted to go off-special. The Beausoleils, Hood Canal, Kumamotos and others were tasty but I found the shucking to be sloppy as hell - loads of shell fragments.

At one point, a runner placed a mignonette on our table along with a new plate of oysters. He came back later, told us that it was supposed to be "extra" - it apparently had truffle in it - but said we could keep it and enjoy. It actually turned out to be overpoweringly sweet, with no hint of truffle whatsoever (and who wants truffle with raw oysters, anyway?). A few minutes later, our waiter spotted the truffle mignonette and basically accused us of taking it - "you know, you're not supposed to have that." Erm... The service was also rushed. Our waiter was at the table every few minutes pushing us to order more.

The regular priced oysters were overpriced, in my opinion. The place was also jam packed at 7 on a Friday and loud as hell.

Scratching this one off the list.
