Elwady in Astoria

I see a lot of posts here about Kabab Cafe. Haven't
been yet--was going there tonight on Sylvia
Carter's/this site's recommendation, but forgot the
name and ended up in Elwady (24-25 Steinway) instead.
The food was really good. We ordered hummos, baba
ganoush, foul, some homemade stuffed grape leaves, a
shish kebab and a kefta kebob. The baba ganoush was
delicious and unusual, slightly sweet as if there were
honey in it. It was very unlike the smoky baba ganoush
at the Fountain Cafe in Brooklyn, which I think is the
best in the city, but excellent nonetheless. In fact,
all the appetizers were prepared unusually but were
delicious. The grilled meats were done perfectly,
nicely charred on the outside but not burnt.

Anyone else been to Elwady? Comments?
