I'm somewhat new to Chowhound, so I missed the story behind Jim Leff's "Downhill Alert" & any discussion about Elias Corner.
So, I'm curious. I went there for my first time recently (before hearing of its "downhill-ness") & loved it--every fish item we had was absolutely incredible. The side dishes we had weren't anything too exciting, but were tasty.
Anyway, I want to know what about the place is downhill--I don't really know how their fish would have been better before, considering the simple preparation. If it's a sides/price/atmosphere/service thing, though, I guess I get it. Feed my curiosity, please!
