El Yucateco Kutbil-ik Hot Sauce

kare_raisu | Oct 6, 200602:30 AM     9

I picked up this flavor of the popular EL Yucateco Brand at a local Mercado and tried it out tonight.

This is a really awesome hot sauce. They advertise it as 'xxxtra hot' but the burn is not that bad --especially when adminstered judiciously and counterbalanced by cooling guacamole.

It's a habanero sauce based on the 'original mayan recipe.' It has its natural coloring so its almost a rusty grey -- which may dissuade a few but dont judge a book by its cover, this baby is a winner.

The light burn gives way to a great flvor which is hard to describe. Slightly fruity. Very nice.

Give it a shot. It cost me $2.09.
