El Sobrante, CA: Cafe Soleil

Café Soleil is another breakfast place that I’ve never before tried for lunch or dinner. It is one of the better breakfast options in the El Sobrante area.

Here’s my report from 2005. It has been unchanging over the years … in a good way.

Cafe Soleil – Great Breakfast – SUPER kid friendly

As I wrote in the above link, the fluffy biscuits are delicious and the home fries are great. There are three options in addition to plain

Dave’s, with cheddar, grilled onions and country gravy

Crissy’s, with jack cheese and a choice of sour cream or ranch dressing

Jennifer’s, with grilled onions, tomatoes, salsa and sour cream. Cheese can be added

Breakfast and lunch is served all day. On my to-try list are the char-broiled burgers.

Here's what I had rated from A+ to F -

C + .... Clam chowder

B - ..... Turkey sandwich

Service: B +

Ambiance: B -

Price: $$
