Two surprises about this Columbia Heights bar and grill:
Despite the fact that it looked desolate from the outside, the place was nearly full at lunchtime, with two tables in addition to the large bar/kitchen. Friendly vibe though I was the only gringo.
Everything served is comically large. I don't mean just large portions, but everything was cut massive: in my yuca con chicharron, the 'masitas' were 3 inches across with thick slabs of yuca, a rough-chopped curtido, a side jardiniere with big chunks of onion and jalapeno - my gosh - even my horchata was served with a hunk of ice that I swear had Leonardo and Kate clinging to it.
High quality throughout and I will definitely return to see what is in those boiling pots behind the bar.
