The wife and I went tonight for dinner.
The space looks great - very sleek, sexy.
Welcomed well and seated promtly - no surprise as we were among the handful of people there at the time.
Good, solid menu - Caribean influenced, which comes from the fact that chef is formerly of Ultra. Starters were tomatoes three ways for my wife and the foie gras for me - delicious. The mains were muchroom rice cake and the bison and frites.
The food was really, really good, great flavours, will return for more.
However, our only complaint is the service - lacked interest in us, knowledge in the food, not friendly, very disappointing.
We ended up at Eggplant becuase Toba was full. AS my wife said when we left - 'I would havew rather have spent the $100.00 at Toba!'.
And yeah, I was the guy a few weeks back that posted the message about the statement made by one of the Eggplant's owners saying their were the 'only restaurant in the area' - that attitude is evident during our time there.
