It's been roughly two weeks since I left New York and already I am having withdrawals from the sandwich. Unfortunately, Boise doesn't have takers on the delicacy; fortunately, we are in the Bay area for about five days. Are there any good locations for bahn mi around Union Square (it's where we are staying)?
And as for dinner during the rest of the five nights...?
Last year we did La Folie. I was impressed but the folks were tired and not in the mood for a slow dinner, along with the many courses. Any recommendations on another French restaurant or bistro.
I've heard good things about Firefly, but other than that I am completely open. Preferably I would take restaurants closer to Union Square and styles such as German, Peruvian, Italian (with good risotto), New American (like Collichio), Bistro Pubs (like the Spotted Pig in the West Village) or just some awesome neighborhood restaurants (we'll have a car and so I can force 'em out on the town).
Many, many thanks for your replies, and if I take 'em up, I'll be sure to post a response on the experiences. Cheers.
