EATING IN MEXICO CITY..my tentative list, plus request for barbacoa

Two of us are planning a week in Mexico City in late October/early November. Based on what I've read so far, including the helpful threads here on CH, I've come up with a list and hope that the "experts" will offer counsel on favorite dishes in each place, as well as helping me finalize the list. The restaurants will be supplemented by street food, and I will do more reading on that before returning with specific questions.

Most places are closed Sunday nights, or so it appears. So we will probably plan a big lunch on that day, and may include other lunches as well.

I have El Hidalguense on my list for the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I think I would like to add another barbecue place. Years ago I remember weekend dining at a very large restaurant in the south of the city that was known for lamb barbecue on weekends, and also had live music. I don't remember the name or location but it was filled with families and had great atmosphere. But I have come across three possibilities that seem to offer what I am looking for and that may have lamb on weekends. Curious to hear the comments of anyone who has been. Which would be most convenient to the center; we are staying in Polanco and I know these will be a long taxi ride (??)

1. Restaurante Enrique, Insurgentes Sur, Tlalpan

2. Restaurante Arroyo, Insurgentes Sur, Tlalpan

3. Barbacoa de Santiago, Colonia Napoles

Now, for my tentative list; please let me know if you agree about these, and if you have favorite dishes at any of them; I realize that comida is the main meal, but would it be terrible if we dined in the evening instead at most of these? Are any of them far better for lunch? Again, we will supplement with street food.

DULCE PATRIA (we are staying 7 nights at Las Alcobas, which houses the restaurant)

EL HUEQUITO, for Tacos al Pastor and what else? Any particular branch far better than any other?

EL HIDALGUENSE (weekend barbecue)

The list is weighted toward high-end dining but it is difficult to cut any of them, given the great things I've read. I do wonder if Biko is a good reflector of local flavors, or if it is too European and not "Mexican" enough. (??)

We will have one additional dinner (two if we eliminate the BBQ "palaces" I mentioned at the top of this post. Is there anything more mid-range that stands out? (I did read about Azul Historico but wonder about more modest spots to round out the list; any family favorites or places with standout classic dishes? Any place famous for carnitas?

We will travel to Puebla and Oaxaca after the DF, so will not seek out those cuisines during this week. Any regional places I must visit? I should mention that the travel partner is not only a spice shunner, but also has a sensitive stomach.

Many thanks to the regulars on this board for providing so much great information! I just booked our tickets and am extremely excited about returning to Mexico after many years.
